What you can inspect
Sublime Text is a commercial native program. The main binary is not published as an open tree. Default packages and many community plugins remain readable on disk after install.
Digests and signatures
A SHA-256 digest tells you the file you saved matches the file that was published. A signature names the publisher. Compare both after the transfer. If a digest is missing, wait before you treat the file as checked.
Heuristic scanner noise
Desktop editors write files, watch folders and register shortcuts. Heuristic engines sometimes treat that pattern as unwanted. An alert is not the same as a proven infection. Compare the hash, then restore from quarantine only when it matches. More steps sit on the field notes. Field notes.
Integrity after install
The editor works on files you open. Packages you add later can run Python, so only add packages you trust. A license key is typed inside the running app. This site never collects keys.
