Trust, integrity, and lawful use

This page says how sublimetext.co talks about Sublime Text, what the editor is, and what you own after you install it.

Lawful use

You may fetch Sublime Text and try it without paying. A license is required if you keep using it. No forced trial clock is running. This website does not grant that license and does not bless copies that skip it.

Do not use this site to ask for cracked keys, patched binaries, or steps that avoid payment. Those requests will not be published.

Names, marks and product identity belong to their owners. This independent site only describes the editor.

How the editor should be used

Sublime Text is a text editor. Use it on files you are allowed to edit. It is not a tool for hiding malware, rewriting other licenses, or breaking into systems.

License and what you can read

The main Sublime Text application is not open source. Saying otherwise would be false. After a normal install you can inspect default packages, syntax definitions and any community plugins you added.

No extra payload

This website does not bundle extra installers, browser helpers or advertising toolbars. The only calls to action are the download controls. A heuristic antivirus alert is not proof that the editor is malicious. Use the hash and signer checks on the install page. Get the editor.

What stays on you

You choose whether to download, install and run software. You check that the file you received is the file you expected, you keep a valid license if you continue, and you own the files you open inside it.

Information here is provided as-is. It is not legal advice and not a stand-in for the product license. If a sentence here conflicts with the license that ships with Sublime Text, the license wins.
